Well I have to start with our largest Walking Group Yateley meet up on Saturday 24th February. 42 members old and new, enjoying the beautiful Minley Countryside with great company. Followed up with well deserved hot drinks and bacon baguettes at the Crown and Cushion Pub. This really is a fantastic group to be part of and it wouldn’t be the same with out the amazing personalities amongst us!!
The 2nd LivFitters Camp was a small but determined group on a beautiful day. I hope to see a lot more faces at our 3rd March meeting Saturday 10th March 2018, 11:30am at Gravel Pit Car Park on the A30.
It’s been another great month in the Power Walking Group with our very own Chris Brooks only 7 weeks away from in Himalayas trek for Frogmore Day Centre, the way this group has been pushing themselves is amazing. With the clocks changing next month we can start to walk in the wooded areas again on a Monday night as soon as we can! Not long now!
Our awesome LivFitters Family continues to grow, supporting each other through specific goals such as weight loss, lean muscle building and cardiovascular training. They smash there sessions every week and I’m proud of everyone’s achievements so far this year. Keep going!!
Whats happening in January 2018
Our first Saturday Yateley Walking Group was a resounding success and we had 33 on our walk through Minley and on to Fleet. This was followed up with the first LivFitters Group Exercise which pushed you guys to a new level. We had our first Monday Night Power Walk and hit 6k in 60 mins!!
This Friday sees our 2nd Friday morning Power Walk, currently starting at Horse Shoe Lake. Saturday we are meeting at Fleet pond for a short 4K walk as many of us are completing the Macmillan 20k Winter London Walk (thanks to Heather Moore for organising!)
The LivFitters Group is growing at a fantastic rate with many group members and 121 clients keeping me exceptionally busy. Chris Brooks is well in his way to being ready to complete his Himalayas trek in April, raising money for Frogmore Day Centre. This is really exciting for our group!! We are going global guys!
I continue to be proud of all of you. Keep hitting those goals guys. This is our year and we are going to smash it!
The Walking Group is going from strength to strength. With our Saturday walks we often find locations where we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and finish up with bacon sandwiches, hot drinks and great conversation. We have Power Walking Groups currently 6pm from the Yateley Library Car Park on School Lane and Fridays currently from The Scout Hut on Monteagle Lane. We cover 5.5k to 6k in approx. 50 - 60 mins. I am so happy and thankful for the lovely people who are part of this group. Its so friendly and welcoming to all who join us. I am confident the Group will continue to meet through the colder and darker months as a little ray of sunshine to our week!!
This week has been one of firsts. The first Power Walk where it rained, first Return to Exercise Walking Group, first Power Walk around Horseshoe lake. The list goes on!
The Saturday walk around Fleet Pond was earlier than normal starting at 8:30am but still had 22 members, all keeping a fantastic pace and completing the 3.9k walk in about 50 minutes.
Wednesdays first Return to exercise group at 13:45 from the Scout Hut on Monteagle Lane had 4 walkers, not bad considering the weather! Hale stones 10 minutes before the start but the walkers did a fantastic job keeping a great pace throughout and enjoying the views of Castle Bottom and the Airfield. Its £6 per session and half the proceeds will be going to the Our Harrys Smile Fund for a lovely local family who are raising money for the much needed alterations to there home to accommodate the gorgeous 4 year old Harry. Due to a chromosomal deletion he is profoundly deaf and confined to wheel chair. This amazing family really need our help to make there home a place for Harry to thrive whilst also easing the strain of his day to day care on his family. I am also planning a collection for this very worthy cause at the beginning of the Saturday 20th May walk from Horseshoe lake so don't forget your change!!

This week sees the Power Walk from the Scout Hut on Monteagle Lane GU46 6LS at 6pm followed by the first Couch to 5k session at the same place at 7pm. Then of course its the Wednesday Return to Exercise Group and then Fridays 10am Power Walk from Horse Shoe lake this time starting at the Horseshoe Activity Centre carpark. Those who fancy a drink after can head up the road to Blackwater Golf Centre Café. I'm super excited about the week ahead. I hope everyone enjoys there bank holiday and I will see the Walkers and soon to be runners very soon indeed!
Saturday 22nd April 2017 was our most successful meeting yet! We had 27 members at the walk around the beautiful Horseshoe Lake and surrounding area and walked the 6.2k route in 90 minutes. With the bluebell fields, enlightening countryside views plus the amazing lakes themselves this is a new favourite route of mine. Breath taking! The company was the perfect extension of this with a great variety of ages and abilities, all friendly and welcoming to each other as always. The buzz of chatter between friends old and new always makes me proud to be part of this group. Thanks to all the new people who joined us and to the regulars who continue to support The Walking Group Yateley.
